Discovery Boxes: An Approach for Fostering Nonfiction Research Readiness Skills

Help your students think “outside the box!” Discovery Boxes contain cross-curricular primary sources that encourage young learners to construct meaning through connections to the objects inside. Participants will examine and experience Discovery Boxes designed for elementary students. Presenters will share how their students benefited from this hands-on approach to inquiry and participants will take away a list of ideas for their own Discovery Boxes.
